I Corinthians 13:5

“does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;”
More descriptions of what love is. It doesn’t seek its own pops out to me in a big way. Love isn’t out for itself. When you love anyone else, it should be solely for their benefit.
When you show love to someone, it shouldn’t be about the do-good feeling or the satisfaction. It shouldn’t be about the praise or the “thank-you”. It should be simply about a desire to help the other person, and to honor God in it.
True love is never about yourself. It’s always about the other person. Do I live like that? Not all the time.  Sometimes I feel as if I’m “sacrificing myself” but I’m really not. I’m doing it because I must – but that’s not true love. God doesn’t listen to us because he must. He does because he loves us.
I will pray for the Lord to pour into me a supernatural love for his people – all of them – today.
